Hi, I'm Michael Bischoff, a software developer and Human-Centered Design student at Penn State. I specialize in building intuitive user interfaces, writing efficient backend logic, and connecting it all with thoughtful UX design. From Android apps to data-driven systems, I focus on solving real-world problems with clean, maintainable code and accessible design.

^^That's me!^^

I work at the ReSENSE lab here at Penn State. The ReSENSE Lab is a research group that brings together students, faculty, and developers to create smart, technology-driven solutions. Our work focuses on using artificial intelligence to develop useful platforms and devices that support communities. We actively share our research through competitions, conferences, and publications, helping to advance both academic and real-world innovation.

My Research

My research persists of using a mixture of artificial intelligence and UX-Integration to help seniors in need. Primarily, I'm aiming to assist seniors who suffer from loneliness, as that is a leading cause of many physical and mental issues as one gets older. The research is still very early in the development process, but you can check it out here!

Here are some projects and assignments I've completed both as coursework, and as personal programs I've completed in my free time.

A multi-feature Android app designed to help students manage assignments and courses. Built with a focus on UI clarity, persistent storage, and user accessibility.A lightweight script designed to assist users during Kahoot games by displaying correct answers from game data in real time.A custom link preview card component that displays metadata for URLs using open graph tags and is built using the Web Components API.
